Dejected, Take Two.

It was painful enough when the New York Times chose not to recognize Lucky Man as one of its favorite books of the year, but at least we could write that off as the usual anti-flyover state East coast snobbery. But et tu Chicago Tribune? You are our hometown paper. And you picked not 10 books, or even 25, but 150 of your favorite books. Dang. Where's the Lucky Man love?

Ben, I just know you wrote this post while winking your eye and crossing your fingers. Given the decreptiude and irrelevance of the Trib's literary coverage, you should only feel bad if they even noticed your book. And despondent if they liked it. And suicidal if it made their best-of-year list.

And Pete as you well know, this whole blog is written while winking our eyes and crossing our fingers. It's just how we do business.
