One Of These Things Is Not Like The Others by Stephanie Johnson.

To begin we would like to say that from our vantage point Keyhole Press is having a very fine year. First came Questionstruck by TBWCYL, Inc. favorite William Walsh and now we get One Of These Things Is Not Like The Others by Stephanie Johnson. The books couldn't be more different, the former a lyrical, at times moving retextualization of the Calvin Trillin's work and the latter a captivating collection of short stories and flash fiction focused on mothers, fathers, daughters and loss. Still, both remind us of why we love to read, so big props all-around and many thanks to Stephanie for swapping books with us.

Reed. Walsh. And some very kind words for Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine.

Two wholly unique writers that we greatly admire here at TBWCYL, Inc. headquarters had some very kind words to say about Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine this week over at the Goodreads.

First, John Reed author of All the World's A Grave and Snowball's Chance wrote:

"
Tanzer evokes what it is to be smart and puzzled, and full of ennui. A deft portrait of characters in mid-wander."

And second, William Walsh of Questionstruck fame and a contributor to This Zine Will Change Your Life said:

"
This novel was a lot of fun to read...Clever. And charming throughout."

Many thanks gentlemen, much, much appreciated.

William Walsh is on the Apostrophe Cast. Pretty cool, yes? Way.

Check it out, William Walsh, author of the wonderful book Questionstruck is up at the Apostrophe Cast today. We here at TBWCYL, Inc. headquarters are big fans of both, you may recall that spokesperson Ben Tanzer has done a joint for Apostrophe Cast, thanks again to Guy and the crew there, and we published a great piece of William's in This Zine Will Change Your Life, and it is always fun to run across these sorts of literary intersections. Having said all that, we hope you will take a listen, because we are pretty sure it will change your life. We also hope you will buy a copy of Questionstruck, many copies in fact, and most importantly, we hope that you will keep being most awesome you, you can be. Cool? Excellent.

Questionstruck. Text. Interrogatories. And Trillin. Nice.

It would be accurate to say that this is not the first William Walsh shout-out here at headquarters this week. We did in fact just interview him and the Michael Fitzgerald for the Orange Alert Press Writer on Writer series. However, since we also mentioned that we planned to riff on William's new book Questionstruck when we finished it, and since we have now done just that, today we are here to riff. And here we go: Questionstruck is not just a loving, crazy, fragmented tribute to the work of Calvin Trillin, but a celebration of all things political, familial, edible, and textual, both dense and wonderful, and bordering on poetry. It can also be quite mesmerizing, so why not read it, and then spread the word, who knows, it just might change your life.

Writer on Writer love. Wow, that doesn't sound right. How about Interview madness, Take Two, starring the William Walsh and Michael Fitzgerald?

We are quite excited to let you know about a simultaneous interview thing we did as part of the Writer on Writer series at Orange Alert with quite cool writers Michael Fitzgerald, whose book Radiant Days we recently riffed on here at the blog, and William Walsh, whose book Questionstruck we plan to riff on soon, and whose work we recently ran with at This Zine Will Change Your Life. We had a lot of fun going all fan boy with this and we hope you dig it.

A quite fun William Walsh - Michael Kimball intersection of sorts. Assuming intersection is the right word. Either way, it is definitely an interview

We were quite thrilled to see talented writer dudes Michael Kimball and William Walsh, two of our newest and arguably best friends in the whole world, cross paths at Word Riot, where Michael has interviewed William about his new book Questionstruck, while requesting that all of William's responses be phrased as questions. Much fun. Nice work gentlemen.

The new edition of This Zine Will Change Your Life is live and feeling Questionstruck. Or something like that.

The new edition of This Zine Will Change Your Life is live and feeling Questionstruck. Or something like that. We have a new story, The Poet's Revise by William Walsh which we are way excited about, and, as always, photo action from Adam Lawrence, a music selection from Jason Behrends, and Crameresque prose love from Pete Anderson. We hope you enjoy this edition and we appreciate all shout-outs and links. We are also thrilled to let you know that while this was completely unplanned William Walsh's new book Questionstruck was released by Keyhole Press this week and so we want to take a moment to hype the release and encourage you to take a look at Questionstruck as well, because we believe that doing so will certainly change your life. Finally, please note, that we are temporarily closed for submissions. And it's not you, we love you, it's us. Well actually, it is you and all of your wonderful submissions. But we still love you. For real. That said, we are re-opening for submissions on May 1st, so do stay-tuned, way tuned.
