RAGAD Rules. Seriously.

Girls. Cold beer. Johnny Cash. Louisiana. And good coffee. What else can one ask for from one night of literary readings? Not much and that is why RAGAD rules. Seriously. I was lucky enough last night to join Nick Ostdick and the RAGAD crew for the release of RAGAD 3 and it rocked. There was Pete Anderson of Pete Lit fame, a killer literary blog, please check it out. Josh Stevens from Read Between The Lynes, Woodstock's most excellent independent bookstore (and that would be the Illinois Woodstock for you East coast-centric readers at home - you know who you are), and Spencer Dew, a most prolific Chicago writer you need to read if you have not. I read a new short story titled "What We Thought We Knew" which will appear in RAGAD 5, and as the kids say it was all good. Thank you Nick for the invitation, thank you MoJoe's Hothouse for the kind coffee, thank you to those of you who bought copies of Lucky Man, and thank you to Michelle Rieff, a dear old friend - who we want you to know is single and smoking hot - who not only came out for a listen, but who informed me that now that she is working as a therapist, she can unequivocally state that we at Lucky Man, Inc. are not nearly as narcissistic as we thought. Nice. Who knew? Meanwhile, for more on the reading check out Nick's July 15th blog entry at In the Nick of Time. You will be happy you did.

Thanks for the round of coffees, good sir. More nights like Saturday are in the works. Look out for those...

...also, you rule as well.

Please note: that's "killer" like Jerry Lee Lewis, not like Richard Speck.
