Lucky Man Story Collections

When I posted "Tackling The Novel" on "This Blog Will Change Your Life" - see below - I also posted it to the blog I maintain on Punk Planet's website. Someone in turn posted a comment asking me to list my favorite short story collections. I came up with a list of short story and essay collections I have enjoyed or which influenced me in some way when I was writing.

I was hoping the person who posted the comment , or anyone else for that matter, would comment on my list or add to it. Sadly, this did not occur. So, I have decided to share my list here with you as well, plus a couple of extra books I flaked on then.

We at Lucky Man, Inc. believe these collections can change your life but we would like to hear whether you agree.
We would also like to hear what collections you like and why, so please give us a shout and let's celebrate the writing we love, moves us, makes us laugh, angry, and upset, fills our afternoons and heads, and makes us want to holler.

The Stories of Breece D'J Pancake - Breece D'J Pancake; When the Messenger is Hot - Elizabeth Crane; Naked - David Sedaris; Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage - Alice Munro; The Bridegroom - Ha Jin; Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs - Chuck Klosterman; Bricks and Anchors - Jon Longi; Drown - Junot Diaz; The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fist Fight in Heaven - Sherman Alexie; Hey Buddy! A Hate Collection - Peter Bagge; What We Talk About When We Talk About Love - Raymond Carver; and Meditations From a Movable Chair - Andre Dubus.
