The IPA is dead. Long live the IPA.

I know not everyone out there follows the challenges faced by the independent press, much less the Independent Press Association (IPA). Still the IPA has closed its doors and that is most unfortunate for independent media everywhere. I wrote a piece for Third Coast Press on the IPA's struggles over the last year and it was just coming out as they ceased operations. It is a story about leadership, communication, transparency, vision, and culture, and how the failure to get a handle on these things will eventually undermine any efforts to do good. You can now see that piece as some of the back story for what was to come and read it at http://www.thirdcoastpress.com/pissed_IPA_in_crisis.php.

For additional information on this story I also strongly recommend taking a look at http://jeremy-adam-smith.blogspot.com/.

Be good.
