Wherein TBWCYl, Inc. spokesperson Ben Tanzer talks writing, nostalgia, Billy Martin, and drinking, copiously, in his hometown of Binghamton, N.Y.

So true it is. We are Thirsty's and Spiedies and stellar lineup. We are also most appreciative that the Barry Graham, yes that Barry Graham, invited us to participate. Excerpt? Cool.

"And if you think about Binghamton writ large, you may know that Billy Martin died there in a drunk driving accident as well. A point which may not be a good stepping-off point to my suggestion that Binghamton belongs in any and all discussions about good places to drink. But Binghamton is also the 10th rainiest city in the United States, and if not for bars, what else would we do?"

New joint. Lies. At the Hobart.

Very geeked we are. And big thanks to the whole Hobart crew for that. Excerpt? Cool.

"Can I speak to you for a moment?

It’s your son’s teacher and so this can’t be good. Now not good, doesn’t have to mean bad, but it means something, and you are too tired for something. You just want to do pick-up and get home.

The teacher tells you that your son lied in class. Stood up in front of everyone and told them how your family’s dog died after a classmate of his had shared that her dog had died.

But you don’t have a dog do you, the teacher says?

No we don’t you say, and you wonder why your son would do that?"
