“The Following are Pages Torn from our Most Favorite Imaginary Books”

A group show brought to you by OHNO!Doom & Josh Lucas.

February 13th, 2010, 6pm-10pm

An entire city looses the ability to communicate with each other. A boy struggles with an oddly tangible past. Dolphins parade with jazz musicians, lighting bugs dance, and squichons appear in this first installment of the highly ambitious and visually stunning Torn Pages Show.

OHNO!Doom is proud to bring you “The Following are Pages Torn from our Most Favorite Imaginary Books”, the first of the long-anticipated annual Torn Pages shows. Curated by Josh Lucas, this collection of imaginative, funny, and original children’s stories, written by some of Chicago’s finest writers and illustrated by artists of the same caliber. Writer/artist pairings include: Joe Meno and Cody Hudson; Zach Dodson and Allison Burque; Tim Hall and Ryan Young; Jenah Garrett and Stacey Earley; Ben Tanzer and Dominique Holmes; Nancy Khurana and Ruben Aguirre Jr.; Jill Summers and Andrew Thompson; Amy Guth and Pea-Be; Max Bare and Alex Willan; Lindsey Markel and Jason Brammer; Jaime Calder and Joe Call, and James Kennedy.

The opening for “The Following are Pages Torn from our Most Favorite Imaginary Books”, will take place on Saturday, February 13th, 2010, from 6pm-10pm, and will run through the end of the month. The show is hosted by OHNO!Doom, whose new location at 1800 N. Milwaukee Ave., just south of the Western Avenue blue line stop.
