Walt Whitman Means Delicious - TBWCYL, Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of "This Podcast Will Change Your Life."

To begin, we should state that outside of the way sub zero degree temperatures we weathered at the Belmont stop much fun was had last night at the RAGAD release party. Pete Anderson's "Mercy Day" was a treat, Jill Summer read a wonderful piece about a ghost named Larry, Nick Ostdick did his Ostdick thing about cowboys and love, and with all respect to the rocking Elizabeth Crane, Spencer Dew may just be our favorite live reader on the Chicago literary scene these days. Crazy awesome is what comes to mind.

Now on to something new. It is rare that we find Nick, Jason Behrends of what to wear during an orange alert and Jason Pettus from the Chicago Center for Literature and Photography in one room. All are charming, full-on raconteurs, lovers of independent everything and great supporters and champions of Lucky Man, "This Blog Will Change Your Life" and TBWCYL, Inc. spokesperson Ben Tanzer.

So, we decided to ask them to join us for the launch of the newest venture from TBWCYL, Inc. - This Podcast Will Change Your Life. Nice, right? We think so. Anyway, we gathered around a table at the Book Cellar and launched into thirty-odd minutes of literary and blogging love. Names/topics dropped included Joe Meno, The Foundation Trilogy, McSweeney's, Thieves Jargon, THE2NDHAND, and of course the aforementioned Ms. Crane, among others.

The inaugural show is titled Walt Whitman Means Delicious and we hope you will take a listen. We also want to give big shout-outs to Nick and the Jasons for their support and we hope you will stay on the look out for future shows.

Finally, please note, that we invite any and all of you to pitch yourselves as possible "This Podcast Will Change Your Life" participants, assuming (1) you have something independent you are just dieing to pitch or discuss, paging Diane Lane, (2) happen to be in or around Chicago, (3) are Elizabeth Crane (we know, that's three mentions this entry, but what are you going to do) and (4) comfortable with subjecting yourself to coffee or drinks with our spokesperson and lead interviewer Ben. We find him to be very pleasant, but we certainly appreciate that he may be somewhat of an acquired taste in person.

The newest catchphrase that is sweeping the nation: do that Ostdick, man! Works on many levels if you think about it...

Thanks for the shout, Ben. As always, you continue to amaze and flatter us.

Well, we love to shout. And Ostdick. Meanwhile, for those reading this, we have a streaming glitch on the podcast and are stuck in preview mode, but hope to fix that shortly. Seriously. Because its great. Pinkie-swear.

The first podcast sounds great, man. Went off without a hitch. Congrats. We should do it again when Jason comes to town in April, if not before then.

Yes sir, we are up and running, and quite thrilled about it, thanks for the congratulations. And April, with Jason number three, for sure.

And as you know Jason, when we're not doing the Ostdick, we are all about the namedropping.

I'm ready for my podcast, Mr. DeMille.

PS Can't wait to listen, seeing as how I'm among the topics, which I will do first thing after I get out from under my work!

And we look forward to your thoughts. As always we try to celebrate your awesomeness in the most appropriate and literary fashion we can. We would add, that we picked-up a copy of You Must Be This Happy To Enter after the RAGAD reading and we look forward to having you sign it when we meet up for our yet to be scheduled fully Crane-centric podcast.

I'm back - this was great fun to listen to even without the ego boost. Man, do I know where to come when I'm feeling low...
I hope you dig the new book!

We're very happy you enjoyed it and are very much looking forward to the book, Donovan's Closet alone is worth the price of admission.
