Dejected. And a Lucky Man shout out.

We at TBWCYL, Inc. were terribly dejected to read today's New York Times Book Review "100 Notable Books of 2007" list and find that Lucky Man was not among the books selected. On the other we were thrilled to see Lucky Man getting a shout out in the November 30th PeteLit blog entry on supporting the independent press during the Holiday Season. Thanks for the support Pete, much appreciated.

No problem, Ben. In fact, I just nominated LM for the 2008 Tournament of Books at The Morning News:

Come to think of it, with all the shilling I've been doing lately, maybe I should just quit my banking career and become your publicist.

Thanks much, and we at TBWCYL, Inc. are always looking to grow the team, so whenever you're ready to move over from the dark side let us know. Of course, please do ask yourself how important feeding your family is before you make this decision. If it's not important we have all kinds of opportunities for you.

I've consulted with my family, and as it turns out they strongly prefer to eat several meals every day, and even have the audacity to demand heat in winter, air-conditioning in summer and a solid roof over their heads at all times. So I'll have to politely decline any offer of employment you may be considering, until your cash flow situation improves.

Heat, air, and a roof? You may not be joining the team for awhile. That said, we will be happy to keep your resume on file if anything changes.
