I am happy to announce that I have finished reading Three Fallen Women by the venerable Amy Guth. And I am happy not just because I was able to make the time needed to actually read a novel, but I got to read this one. It's twisted and crazed, and self-immolation always kind of is I guess. It's also sad, poor Carmen, and so interesting and smart, thank you Helen.
I loved Frieda as painful as it was to read about her. And there were so many great descriptions and images, bruised clouds and such, and as I read it I could really hear Amy's voice, and picture her writing it, and that made me happy because she too seems smart, twisted, and probably crazed, though I'm not as sure about her crazed-ness, I don't know her that well. Anyway, get the book, see Amy read some time, and enjoy. It will change your life.
Meanwhile, for those following my reading progress at home, next up is TALK: A Novel in Dialogue by the inestimable Corey Mesler. I'm very much looking forward to it, though before I begin, I do plan to look-up inestimable in the dictionary because while it seems like the correct descriptor here, to be honest I'm not sure I know what it means.

Let me know how Talk is. I've read Following Brautigan, and it was good, especially if you're a Brautigan fan, which goes without saying.
