"This book read like an excerpt from my life navigating lower Manhattan in the early 90's. I genuinely enjoyed it. This book is written as a series of conversations. Ben Tanzer is an expert writer of dialogue. I was taken at page one and didn't put the book down until I was finished. Too many writers produce feculent pop cultural references. There is a tendency to reduce the 90's to a collection bad stereotypes. Tanzer does not. He is as believable as he is relevant. This book did not "change my life," but it certainly made it better for a while."
Thanks dude.

Which reminds me of Iris Dement's "My Life":
I gave joy to my mother
I made my lover smile
I can give comfort to my friends when they're hurting
And I can make it seem better for a while
As a writer, I'll gladly settle for that "better for a while."
